Solar panels effecting mono hull performance.?

I had pretty much enough Solar at 540watts, but then when my Bimini died, found some 2nd hand House panels (2*245Watts) that when installed forward of the Backstay, provided adequate shade and extra power and was cheaper than Bimini replacement.
Now my yacht never has been a great performer but when I see the various Frames, Bearers, Panels, old bimini frame, cables, looks like quite a bit of windage.

I am up for a redesign frame to give adequate bracing. But thinking maybe I should invest in a portable generator, for those lean times and stream line and reduce my array, thoughts requested.
