Possible Assym Spinnaker

I have found a used Assym spinnaker that is about 2 feet shorter than full hoist on our boat, which is 36.3 feet. I figure it is maybe 60 sq ft smaller. Good idea?

Price is 400 bucks....

Errrr. There are all sorts of folk who will tell you that spinnaker dimensions are not all that crucial. I'm not one of them. The angle between the clew and your turning block is critical because you can't really adjust the fairlead like you can with a genoa. It's possible that you can use a pennant to raise the chute and get the angle right, but it's probable that you're not going to be that lucky.

$400 is a lot to pay for a sail that performs poorly, especially if you end up with a chute you never use because you can't get it to behave itself.
