The Frenchies

Hi everyone!

First of all, I would like to say, I am very happy to join this forum!

So quick introduction: My name is Cecile and I will probably often end up talking about we which also includes my husband Yann. We are a French couple, currently living in London.

We sort of fell in love with the marine life on a holiday: we went on a "discover diving experience" and simply loved it! From this point, all our holidays have been about big destinations and diving. Last year, we went to Raja Ampat in Indonesia on a dive cruise (for our honey moon) and that’s where we realised that learning how to sail was the next step for us!

We are currently saving money and planning a 6 months sabbatical, during which we want to sail from the Australian Gold Coast to Indonesia.

So in a nutshell, this is me / us. I am really looking forward to spending more time on this forum!

Re: The Frenchies

Howdy and Welcome Aboard CF Cecile and Yann! Bienvenue!

Good intro post.

Not everyone on this forum currently owns a boat. Some are former owners, some are still looking, some are building, some are landlocked, some are learning, and some have a few years to go before they buy a boat. They are all welcome, because we all share an interest in cruising and sailing.

Enjoy your time on the forum, and later on your future boat.

And... that proposed voyage is one I would like to take too. I have been researching the route with the hope of joining a boat as crew in the future. Just make sure you choose the proper season to do it.

Re: The Frenchies

Hi, everyone,

'The language of this forum is English. It is part of the rules you agreed to when you became a CF member.

I understand the desire to write in French to help the new members feel at home, so, if you do that, would you also provide the translation into English for those who have no French?

Thank you.
