S/V Harmonia, Cartagena, Spain signing on.

Ahoy, we are Larry Smith and Lynda Dyane of USA-flagged Leopard 43, Harmonia. We are aground in California until next spring, when we will move aboard in Cartagena, Spain and begin cruising the Mediterranean among a growing list of acquaintances. We have a lot to learn from more experienced folks and hope eventually to contribute to the knowledge base ourselves.
For starters, we can vouch for Yacht Port Cartagena as a safe, modern, inexpensive place for a cruiser, and the interesting town of Cartagena with its 2000+ years of history, universities, and Spanish Navy base.
We still own our beloved Aloha 32, Pleamar, in the San Francisco Bay area. She deserves the appreciation and attention of a new owner, and reluctantly we will begin the search soon.
Other places we show up are the Yahoo Leopard owners' forum, Seven Seas Cruising Association, and Multihulls4us. Larry has done most of the talking so far, and is the source of all of our errors.
Fair winds to all,
Larry and Lynda

Aloha SV Pleamar. I have a house in Elk Grove which I just rented out and now in the SF Bay. Welcome to the forum..

Re: S/V Harmonia, Cartagena, Spain signing on.

Aloha owners have a forum that has now morphed into a Facebook group (Aloha Owners Association). These boats (25'-34') were all built in Whitby, Ontario in the 1980s, and most are still being maintained and sailed. From personal experience of my 32, the build quality and interior joinery is first class. Mark Ellis (of Niagra 35 renown) designed all but the 34 (designed by Ted Brewer) to be family cruisers, and the continuing use of so many without significant modifications is pretty good testimony. Good Old Boat had good things to say about the 32 during the 1990s. Please see Aloha Owners Association for more details.
