Old Man - New Life

Having been a (nowdon't everybody jump me on this) a powerboat Capt. for the pas 27 years or so, I have been many many places by water and always on a power boat, Sportfish etc. Mostly The Bahamas-Carribbean tournaments etc.
I now havebeen hired to take a Ketch rig Roberts Offshore 44 from Manitowoc Wi. down to Fla. and am very excited about it, as it is a whole new deal all arond for me. I had a Coronado that I lived on and sailed around San Diego Bay years ago, so have some sailing under my belt. Will be going up in about two and a half weeks to re-commision the boat, then down to Chicago etc. Anyway howdy everybody.

Aloha Captain,
Welcome aboard!! Sounds like an interesting project. Are you coming down the Mississippi or out the St. Lawrence seaway?
Kind Regards,
JohnL

Aloha Captain,
You'll be mostly in the powerboat mode then with your masts laid on deck? Your experience as a powerboat skipper is going to be most helpful. She won't respond like a powerboat so if you practice a bit while in a safe environment then you should do well.
I have never been down that route and don't know how much you can sail with that size boat but I do know there are lots of bridges.
Sounds like a great project.
