Nice to see You Back

Hello!
I’ve been absent of this board for a long time, due to long lasting illness.
Some two years ago, after quite trivial viral infections I went into more serious neurological problems, affecting optic nerves. So everything heavy on eyes was banned for me. No use of computer, no TV, no cell phone (display!) and so on. Of course eye irritating activities were banned too. As You can expect sunshine, salt water spray etc. are of course eye irritating…
So – in effect I was prohibited from all modern conveniences of life and from sailing also.
Rather unpleasant thing, but after long medications, rehabilitation and so on the things are improving and some time ago I was granted permission of using the computer. Huge screen, big letters only, but anyway the computer.
So I’m back here now, for few days going through the threads.
Nice to be back.
Hope to be back to sailing also in not very far future.
Best regards to all!

Have you tried using one of the text to speech programs to do the heavy lifting?

No, I didn't.
But (everything has its bright side) I learnt again to live independently of electronic gadgetry. Very refreshing after initial stage of panic!
