Hi! New here and to sailing

Hi I am just entering the world of sailing . I'm in central ny smack dab in between Albany ny and the Catskill mountains. I joined this forum because while I can figure most thing out on my own it can take a really long time to do that . I'm not new to boating just new to sailing . I just sold my glastron 14 footer with a 115 merc and bought a ensenada 20 1973 . Mainly because I can't afford or justify the absurd amount of gasoline it takes to scream around at 45 knots . And because the 14 foot gamefisher with a 15 hp force while much much better on fuel is a tight squeeze when I bring the whole family . I go boating and boat in camping to be on the water but by the time we get where we are going everyone is shell shocked by barges and giant cruiser wakes that no one wants to get back in the boat until it's time to leave . With this larger vessel I can take my time getting there and know that I will do just that ...get there . Hope everyone is ready for multiple stupid questions because i sure have a lot
