Hi from Mozambique

I'm so new at this that I don't even know where to post or how to post a thread.

My wife and I bought a 36' Prout. 22 years old. Did our Skipper's in South Africa and then proceeded to Mozambique where we are currently moored in a bay trying to fix a LOT of problems. All was okay when we left SA.

So here we are. A South African, 57 years old. A gorgeous Scottish wife, much younger than me, two dogs and a parrot wanting to sail the Seven Seas.

Regards from Mozambique

Welcome aboard, Janaucamp.

May you and your mixed species family have many happy years sailing.

Hi Jan and Fiona.. Welcome to CF..
Maybe explore the site a bit.. ask some questions.. there's a few knowledgeable Prout owners in the membership so anything you may need advice on may just dredge up some answers..
Best wishes to you both..

Re: Hi from Mozambique

Howzsit Janaucamp and Goeie naand.

So happy to hear you found yourself a boat and a good place to work on her. The waters down there are beautiful and nice to swim in most of the time. Sounds like you and the wife will have lots of fun projects ahead of you in preparation to head out.

Most people say avoid fix up boats, I for good reason. But if you can get it for the right price and want to hang onto it for a long time, why not get a blank canvas and make it what you want it?

Anyway, happy to see you here and best of luck. By the way, maybe a water maker would be useful, just ask Cape Town lol. Its hard to believe, I used to live on the Eastern Cape and visit Cape town regularly. The stories I hear now from friends down there is nothing short of shocking and sad. Haven't been to ZA in more than ten years and not sure I want to take the family there quite yet.

Cheers

Sounds pretty good to me. We had ice on the decks when we woke up this morning and the milk is in the fridge because it will freeze solid if we leave it outside :-(

Welcome to CF btw.
