Hello , new forum member .

I have a 1977 seafarer 26 with no engine. This is my 2nd time owning this same boat. I had lived aboard and sailed southwest Florida based out of Charlotte harbor for 10 years and then went to a 1966 Pearson Vanguard for 12 years.

I missed the seafarer's nimbleness since I mostly gunkhole around barrier islands single handing.

I did not find having a motor all that special since I had 10 years experience sailing without one on a easily sailed boat although the Vanguard had many other charms. Turns out I prefer a light boat particularly now that I am a 70 year old singlehander.

I paint a few murals and go sailing more or less. Well no sense making this my book so I will end this introduction here.

Glad to find this forum.

Re: Hello , new forum member .

G'day, Charles, and welcome aboard CF.

Somehow, I could imagine a lovely gunholing book illustrated by a muralist's watercolours. I'll bet there are some stories to go with some of the places.....

Bigger isn't always better, or more suited to the missuon brief. Sounds like you have a good idea as to what works for you.

Re: Hello , new forum member .

Thank you for the warm welcome folks.
Have new standing rigging with an added job halyard block and led tricolor mast light.
New 3/8 samson xls running rigging on the way.
Just stripped the boat and pressure washed the entire interior.
After strengthening the keel to hull fairing have new Trinidad pro red bottom paint on it.
A friend is making new main sail cover, job sock, bimini top & interior cushion covers out of white sunbrella awning canvas.
Won't be long before my baby is ready for more adventures.

Hey Charles, how is the boat coming along? Would love to hear about how she sails. I am considering the sf26 for extended offshore and would like to hear about your experiences w the boat in extreme conditions.
