Hello

Hello all! I found this forum while researching different boats, lurked and read a bit, and finally decided to register and be a participant. I grew up in Tennessee sailing on the lakes in Hobie cats, Sunfish, and various daysailers, along with of course tear-assing around the lake in overpoweres Bass-boats fishing A few years ago I considered a larger sailboat as a liveaboard as I spent a LOT of time traveling and otherwise on the road. so much so that I in fact did not have an apartment of my own and stayed with friends when I was "home". I couldnt find a boat within range that felt like "me", and before I did I moved to Colorado to a job where I could "settle" down a bit and not be traveling quite as much.
Fast forward, and a marriage(first time for everything!), new house, etc later, and my wife and I are looking to go sailing! No real plan, just picking up a daysailor to enjoy on the local (20 minutes from the house) reservior, and looking about for something in the 37 to 40-ish foot range, but thats fodder for another thread in another section. My wife and I are reasonably young, and there is no hurry or rush.

Welcome aboard! Is the lake big enough for a keelboat or are you looking for another dinghy?

My brother has a Force 5 and evertime I am in LA we haul it out to the ocean. People look at us like we are crazy but we have fun.

Actually the "plan" is to moor the "big" boat in Southern Florida or wherever we happen to roam on our far too short vacations until we are able to retire.
