Greetings

I've registered, posted a bit, run into a couple of old cronies here and even had a post deleted (deserved), so I think I'm ready to say Hello.

My real name is . . . Bob J. I'm a bit more of a racer than cruiser, mostly because racing forces me to get out of the slip regularly and it keeps me sharp. I race single-handed on San Francisco Bay and out the G' Gate. I've been married for 24 years and we have four kids, three still at home.

My boat is pictured in the monohull "My Boat" thread. I've owned her for 6 years and been sailing for 40. I like most any boat with sails - I have almost as much fun sailing an 8' El Toro as I do sailing my J/92. I've owned quite a few boats over the years (the largest was 33'), with the common denominator that they were not white. (Okay, there was a white C-D 10 and briefly an FJ.) There was pea green, blue (x3), yellow (x3), bright-finished oak, vivid red and even an orange one.

You sound like a good group of folks - I like the tone of the board.

Welcome

Anyone that has owned an ORANGE boat and will admit it can't be all that bad. Welcome!

I guess eatin' blueberries would do that to you . . .

I just remembered the bright red El Toro currently hanging up in the garage - make that red (x2).

Aloha Bob,
Welcome aboard! Those El Toros were lots of fun when I could bend in several directions. Darned if all the boats I've owned had white hulls. Different color trim though. Good to have you here.
Kind regards,
JohnL
