Boatless in Melbourne, Au

Getting serious now, have finally registered. Not sure what I missed out on but this site/sight has been wonderful in the past, I got lots of opinions now but little experience as a skipper.
I've procrastinated about boat purchase for so long (at least 7 years) not certain about crew size, credit crisis, currency fluctuations, quality etc. But am getting closer, one disavantage is now I'm less enthusiastic about first voyage being a big one. (The pacific is real big and not friendly for part time single handers).
Anyway I should have lots to offer, I've qualification as Chief Engineer occassionally work on ice breaker, tankers, boxboats (container) understand habits of bridge watchkeepers, beeing a general sticky beak, working the Superyachts in Med.
Must have sailed dozens of yachts, luckily ducked a couple of sail trips that ended in disaster of worst kind..... Anyway here I am.

And a warm welcome to Cruisers Forum.

Don't get me wrong but being boatless is good.

Hi, Oceanride,

Welcome aboard. What kind of boat are you looking for?

Re: Boatless in Melbourne, Au

I saw something of Insatiable II just recently Yahoo or blog your from Q'land think. Boat, well ideally a Perry design, Pullman birth, but not many and I'm getting old waiting. Had a look at a HR 38 couple of weeks ago, and a Sunbeam 44 money OK but since then the Au$ gone down ~10% anyway with loss of sailing buddy think now should go max 40'. Wish I could get over where you are but there is all that blue stuff in the way.

Cheers
