Re: Saturday Morning Coffee & Weather

The storm wasn't quite as bad as predicted. The windchill right now is only -34 c. Off to tai chi if I can get out of the parking lot.

Re: Saturday Morning Coffee & Weather

Just finished my 2nd cuppa Dunkin', the sun is out and it'll be almost 60F today. 3.5 months to moving aboard in St. Augustine, bringing her to Hampton, VA for the hurrican season and then to the Carib (isn't that a beer!!) in November. Can't get more excited - till I'm aboard:-)

Strong cold front passing through and OMG! It's freezing here on the Rio Dulce! The overnight low was 65F! We had three layers of blankets on the bed!

We had to make an extra french press of Dieseldorff Exclusivo just to get defrosted this AM.

Morning, -15F here in Cheyenne several mornings ago! Sure made the Folger's Classic Roast taste better as I contemplated getting down to the BVI's for the month of April on our "Group Sloop" REGGAE. In the interim, CF satisfies my nautical cravings! Thanks to you all! PS. We conduct 3 AM Board Meetings in the cockpit of REGGAE, with coffee served liberally spiked with Kaluha, where weighty issues are discussed and momentous decisions are rendered prior to going back to bed. gts1544

Drinking my first cup of Newman's special blend. It's 22 degrees F here in the high country of NC. Yesterday shoveled the driveway clearing the 8 or more inches of snow. Need to check the weather on the coast to see how the boat is doing.

30 here on New York Harbor. Drinking Starbucks in bulk from the wholesale club and watching as discarded Christmas trees continue to float down the Hudson River like so many forgotten dreams.

31F on the Sassafras River, Chesapeake. Clear skies so may get some work done on the outside. Restricted to instant coffee on the boat so coffee is a strong cup of Nescafe classic. Not too bad now that I've eventually managed to ruin my taste buds.
Sure do miss Moccona Indulgence... instant dutch coffee we used to drink in Aus.
Tried Folgers instant... I think they use the stalk, not the bean.
Tried Maxwell House... dishwater
Used Douwe Egberts in England and it wasn't bad, but different here.
Any suggestions for a good instant in the US?
Vic

I never found one... In Oriental I used to go down to a coffee shop called The Bean... served good coffee and muffins and ground a great French Roast at $12/lb... nothing like that where you are...?

Yah.. talk to me.. these are predicted highs and lows in Fahrenheit. Only good thing about it is I've learned how to spell fahrenheit. I've been thinking Belize this time.
