Loading Sailing Videos To Youtube

Dont know if I can post this on here but here goes,

Does any one know how I can up load video's to Youtube quickly,

I have a lot of video's that I took bringing my Gemini home, But it takes like 10 hours to upload a 10 minute video.

Its all sailing and the comments I made on it while doing the passage,

I would like to share my experience for others,

One I did put up was, Boat wreck on Broughton Island, Hard to see my boat, But I was leaving it on the beach, and I was not happy at the time, It shows the waves as we were leaving,

Cheers,
Brian,

Re: Loading Sailing Videos To Youtube

Since Youtube will employ all kinds of compression, it is best just to re-format it yourself, reducing a 1GB file down to 20~50MB, then load to Youtube. This file was shot with a GoPro, and started life very large, I converted it first, then loaded to Youtube.

Re: Loading Sailing Videos To Youtube

Second deckofficer's suggestion, especially in light of what sounds to me like you may have a not-so-hot Internet connection

Also, try uploading at times when there is less likely to be a lot of use, such as late night, early morning (US time, YouTube is mostly US I think)
