Anti-Zombie Advice Thread.

Seems a lot of sea folk are worried about Zombie attacks.
Now rather than spoil the fun and say "Psst... they aint real Folks".. its better to give you all the information out there. Yet another fine service by the friendly mods on Crusersforum...

Advice to start.

Re: Anti-Zombie Advice Thread.

Surviving the zombie apocalypse is relatively easy. Zombies are dead, slow and stupid. And they rot, so they have a rather short 'livespan'.

In temperate regions it will take about 2 weeks for flies to fully convert zombies into more flies. During the zombie apocalypse flies are your friends. Decomposition: fly life cycle and development times - Australian Museum

In polar regions zombies simply freeze. They're dead, so their body temperature is the same as the temperature of the environment. Freezing should not take more than a couple of hours. Once the zombies have stopped moving you can stick a carrot in their face and dress them up in a shawl and high hat.

In jungle regions the combined workforce of arthropods, worms, fungi and bacteria will reduce even the biggest zombie to compost in no more than 3 days. Tomatoes grow very well on this type of compost.

In deserts the sun will turn zombies into extra crispy jerky in just under 5 days. Although the jerky isn't edible, it can be used as fuel for fire or building material.

When you find yourself being pursued by a zombie horde: just walk slightly faster than the horde and you should be alright.

Yes, zombies are getting to be a real problem lately. I think the NSA is directing them... wear a tin foil hat at all times!
Remember, the only thing that works is a BIG gun... you have to blow the pieces of them apart significantly. So be sure to carry big gauge armament on your boat!

Re: Anti-Zombie Advice Thread.

Max Brooks' Zombie Survival Guide is worthwhile reading. It's in the humor section of most book stores, until it happens and they move it the reference section.

Solid advice throughout the book. His official stance on survival at sea is the sea is a dangerous place, just as likely to kill the average person as zombie hordes. It should not be attempted by anyone who does not have prior sea going experience.
