Guns on board

Next year I'm going to start my life as a solo livaboard cruising the Caribbean for a few years. I know having guns on board might not be legal in some of the waters I'll be cruising, but my gun owner friends say I absolutely must have a weapon on board, weather its a home protection shotgun or a hand gun. What do you guys think? Where are they legal and where are they not?

Too many gun threads on this site already.
Go to the search function above and start reading.
Lots of info, enjoy.

Too late, anchoring open ocean was a couple weeks ago.

Red answer: I think it's very wise to protect yourself, and to know the laws.

Green answer: I'll start you with the Bahamas. All countries can be searched on the left-hand side.

I know, it was a joke. This is obviously a fake member trying to stir the pot. He has hit on some of the more contentious subjects on this forum, that have already been covered ad nauseam. I thought I would add the idiotic anchoring in open ocean thread to the list.

Lots of stuff here:

Nah, I'll get permanently banned for sure, it's even better than a gun or anchor thread and just TOO politically delicious !
