I've just returned from Placencia and would 'second the motion' regarding Roberts Grove. Also, you might contact Thunderbird
Marine to see if they have a transient area you could use/rent for a day or two...the same with Splash Dive Shop. As always, consult your
charts for approaches,
depth, etc.
Biking 4 miles to town from the Moorings rental marina was easy and scenic (past the
airport...kind of like a big driveway...); however DON'T BIKE AT NIGHT...drivers don't pay attention & regardless of speed-bumps, they are heavy on the accelerator. Lots of restaurants (lion-fish ceviche at Rumfish, 'original creole' at Omar's, upscale at Roberts Grove and Laru Beya, etc.), several grocery/general-stores & a pharmacia.
The
diving is wonderful at many small atolls
offshore several miles: Glovers Reef, Silk Caye, etc. - warm
water & 40-70' visibility - HAVE FUN!!
