Westerbeke 60 HP Marine Diesel Engine

I just sold my 42' Pearson sailboat. Shortly after buying the boat I acquired this Westerbeke W60 engine as an identical drop-in spare to the W60 in my boat.

The W60 is a desirable low-RPM diesel engine that starts easily and runs well. It has freshly rebuilt circulating and raw water pumps. The engine was run regularly on it’s pallet in my garage.

Included with this engine is a 130 amp Leece-Neville alternator, as well as a spare 55 amp Motorola unit. The engine originally was fitted with a Velvet Drive transmission -- other transmissions will fit this model engine. The engine comes with original technical manuals and parts lists. I am asking $2475.

I also have some brand new parts including Lucas injectors, glow plugs, a spare rebuilt circulating pump and several raw water pumps.

Contact me for further information. Hank windman_sail@fastmail.us

Re: Westerbeke 60 HP Marine Diesel Engine

There were a couple guys recently posting replace or rebuild threads.... This is one, but a tad over what he probably would need HP wise for his ride....

Do a search for engine failures???

Re: Westerbeke 60 HP Marine Diesel Engine

This engine would be a great solution for someone who needs a solid reliable low-rpm diesel. An engine that starts with minimal to no preheating tells you compression and valves are fine. These workhorse engines continue to perform for many years as long as they have proper maintenance, clean fuel and adequate cooling.
