Volvo Penta MSB transmission 1.91:1 reduction unit

I have a MD6A with the MSB transmission. Transmission is okay, but the reduction gear (1.91:1) casing has rusted through the cooling jacket on the inside. This means that the transmission oil is being pumped overboard when in gear.

There is an adapter to bolt a MS2B transmission up to the rear, but doesn't appear that transmission will work with the MD6A, even though the adapter bolts up.

Looking for complete trans and reduction gear, or just reduction gear.

I have a Volvo trans+gear, but I don't know if it's the one you're looking for. The one I have fit a Volvo 2003. Would that work?

I wish, but afraid not. They quit making the one I need back in the late '70s. Thanks, though!

Jag 39,

Try Dick Vosbury @ Vosbury Marine in Annapolis, MD. He might be able to help with part or all of what you need.

I'll hang onto the address. I have one on the way, but don't know the condition, yet. Should be here next week, sometime. Thanks!

Don't know if I should leave this thread up in case others could use the info, or delete it....
