Re: Pro Max Prop

“Excellent” condition? That’s a big stretch. That prop has seen significant corrosion. Get real- Fair condition at best.

Re: Pro Max Prop

I took it to a reputable marina and asked about it. They said it was in excellent condition. The splines are great and the movement is smooth. They suggested the price. A new one is $2500.

They clearly don’t know what they are talking about. You think the deep pits in the surface and the pink tinge are the way that prop came from the factory? [emoji38]

And the 2-blade Max Prop Classic (which that is) has been discontinued. Maybe you could find a new one somewhere, but I doubt it.

Re: Pro Max Prop

I tend to agree that prop has seen some usage. It looks pitted to my eye.

At the very least, it needs a good scrub and polish.

16" is a pretty small diameter, limited folks would be interested.

Max prop sells used Max props...I know....because I bought a "used" Max Prop from them.

When it arrived, it looked like "as new" condition, there wasn't a single mark or blemish on it and it was polished to a mirror like sheen. It came with a packet of their propriety grease, plus a document explaining how to install it and set the pitch.

Their "used" price was less than half the price of a new one.

Your prop seems to have none of these. You don't even mention the pitch or whether it is LH or RH rotation, etc..no idea what the inside gearing looks like, etc.

Unless you know what you're doing, installing one is a process.

My suggestion is to re-think this...contact Max Prop...very nice and helpful folk there....they can give you a better handle on an appropriate price.

Max Props can be adjusted to any appropriate pitch and the rotation can be altered from left to right.

Re: Pro Max Prop

Yes, I know that, but in order to do it correctly, requires you to know how.

Yes, because the instruction manual is so difficult to understand

Re: Pro Max Prop

I'm assuming that this Max prop in question does not come with an instruction manual....

You obviously know, as well as I do, that the Max prop has to be to disassembled for installation.
