Thanks for all the interest in the Norvane! Lots of questions about fit/sizing. I think the Model 12 is the smallest Norvane makes. It's currently on a
Pearson Ariel 26, 6800ish
displacement. I've seen 12s on
boats well above 30 ft, but the safest bet would be to ask Norvane directly. A word about the Norvane on smaller
boats, as opposed to other windvanes...I know a bunch of fellow
Alberg owners (mostly Tritons) with various vanes, and they all steer their respective boats well. In my mind, the Norvane is a better option for my Ariel than a
Monitor, say. Monitors are great! I want one on my next
boat, but the Norvane is a much smaller, neater fit with the limited space back there. It steers the boat just fine too. I'm a happy customer, and these things are a real value when it's easy to go and spend four k for a machine that does the same thing at the end of the day. Perhaps bringing the
price down to $1500 will help find a new home for the vane? Feel free to ask questions.
I also have a bunch of other odds and ends that are up on the table:
Standard Horizon GX2200 VHF/AIS/GPS - $200
Autohelm 1000 Tiller Pilot - $125
Merriman? (not S. Coast) No. 2
Bronze Winches & Handle - Make Offer
Sony ICF SW 7600GR Receiver, Dipole/Coax & Connectors - $150
18V Dewalt Tools - Recip. Saw, Circ. Saw, Grinder - low mileage - $175 all
Thanks again.
