Monitor Windvane number 1240 made circa 1984, hence it’s made of 304 stainless steel and the gear mechanism is bronze.
With a strutguard fitted, wheel adaptor, 3 airvanes, some spares including safety tube, bearing kit 810, airvane plate and 2 knobs plus a few other little bits.
The original manual, parts list and DVD on using it are also included.
Little used in the 20 years I have owned it and with new dyneema control lines and roller sheave blocks in excellent condition.
It came with my Adams 35 (7 tonne) steel yacht.
The photo showing the vane paddle in the water is too deep, as advised by Scanmar, hence the safety tube was shortened accordingly.
Price A$3,000. Collect from Newcastle, Australia, or I can deliver to a local marina (Newcastle, Port Stephen’s, Lake Macquarie).

G’day Karl,
It looks like the Monitor would suit your boat well. You would just have to adjust the attachment tubes suitably to fit. Shipping costs would be high since the unit is 25kg.
However I am visiting Canada in June this year and will be in Montreal some time 2nd half of June. It may be possible to bring it with me if it doesn’t sell beforehand.

Hi Karl,
Yes I am still coming to Montreal in June however the windvane has sold here in Oz. My thoughts on bringing it with me were somewhat impractical since it weighs in at around 30kg+ and is a bit on the bulky side. Lugging it around from New York to Montreal via Toronto etc was never going to work.
Hope you find another one in the US or Canada for sale.
Aries and Fleming windvanes also work well so you might keep an eye out for one of those.
It must be good not to be in the salty marine environment. Your rivers and Great Lakes would be kinder to my steel yacht!
