Sailing Greece Islands with EU citizen, UK flagged boat

Oh boy, sailing can be tough.

So, we are about to enter Greece next week. We were planning to cross Greece in 2 or 3 months. Read the info on Noonsite and reached out with a question. We have EU VAT paid boat, EU citizen skippered, UK flagged.
Apparently, we will only get a 30 day transit log based on the information we got.
Anyone else had the same situation as us?

A bit in doubt what to do. Racing through Greece to Turkey does not seem much fun for our 2 kids on board?

Noonsite mentions that a customs agent may be able to help with an 18 month transit log, but that they are not very keen on doing that lately as not to have issues with customs. Anyone else tried? Agent costs?

Re: Sailing Greece Islands with EU citizen, UK flagged boat

Hi, OK we arrived last week. We didn't use an agent, they charge criminal rates for probably no help at all. We went to the online website and filled in the form foe Tapei tax. We didn't pay it as the link BACS number didn't work (something they told us was common). We drove into Corfu (we came from Galipoli) Town and tied up at the only location where car tyres are in the harbour.
We walked first to the Port Police. Super helpful English speaking. They completed our forms for us and sent us to Customs. These were more formal but a smile and an attempt to say thank you in Greek went a long way.
We completed a people on board for (UK couple with EU VAT paid boat and English Flag). We arrived on 28th of Month and the boat wasn't leaving Greek waters until 5th Oct. We therefore had to pay the 3x months tax. They charged us an admin fee of €35 and gave us a transit log until 28/2/2024.
We then went back to Port Police and handed over customs forms, they completed another couple of forms and charged €15 admin fee and that was it. We did visit the Police near our boat but they said no need (I think it's for people coming from.outside the EU). So that's a 6 month transit log. It may not be enough but if you leave Greek waters to go to say Bulgaria, you have to hand it in and it didn't seem to bother them to get another. Hope that helps.. see you soon!!

Oh.. ps. If you have a copy of Boat registration, insurance etc that they can keep then you'll save yourself a €15 photocopy fee

Thanks very much! That is a hopeful message. Perhaps we should just go for it and try it as well. We will also be going into Corfu from Gallipoli. We will likely arrive sometime end of next week.
Thanks for the heads up on the copy fees!

I see you are from UK. It allows you up to 180 days. I am from Holland with a UK flagged boat considered differently by the Greek authorities.
