Steel coated with epoxy vs aluminium

Hi guys, this is a question I've always been curious about and wanted your opinion. For interior of the boat above the waterline, would plain steel coated with 2 layers of epoxy last just as long as aluminium or stainless steel? Or do you think it would deteriorate faster? Thanks!

Re: Steel coated with epoxy vs aluminium

Aluminum of a proper boatbuilding alloy and stainless steel of a proper alloy would last.. well... forever. and the steel would last until the epoxy coating failed.

So the answer to your question is "NO", the steel would not last as long.

Now it might outlive you so do you care?
