Replacing depth sounder, advice please

On my boat is installed a raymarine p19 depth sounder, that works fine.
I'm single handed and going in somewhat difficult places. So the idea is to replace the p19 with the forward scan from b&g togheter with a vulcan 5fs.
The question.
Is it possible to do this switch over without hauling the boat out. The hole sizeof 51 mm (2 inch) would be the same for new and old. I'm in cap verde and hauling out seems not to be possible here.
Thanks for any advice.

Depends on how much risk and type of insurance you have.

Seriously even though the size holes may be the same, some sort of sealant or adhesive needs to removed while taking out and during installation. A lot of boat builders and yards used 5200 because it being underwater, permenat and their insurance it never falls out. If you read these blogs about 5200 it is considered permanent and use cautiously.

The last time I had seen a yard replace transducer/through hull they used next hole saw size and drilled the whole thing out to save labor, epoxy filled then re-drilled to appropriate size. This takes care of potential water ingress in hull and I believe they used either 4200 or 5200 as sealant.

I do most of my own maintenance and when dealing with fittings underwater I take my time. I may be slow compaired to yard boys my last transmitter replacement took a couple days out of water.

Good luck

Most boaters I know replace the depth sensor in the water. It requires some coordination with the diver, best to use Sikaflex-291, there are a handful of videos online that show the process. I would do it in the water.
