Installing Conduit In Mast

Planning mast refit. It was suggested I install conduit inside the mast for wires. Seeking input from those who are familiar with such a project. Thanks!

Re: Installing Conduit In Mast

Do you have a picture or drawing of the base of your mast? My mast has two slots which run full length beside the internal sail track. I ran 1” round PVC conduit from the mast base to 6” short of the masthead. It is held in place with a series of mast slides attached to the conduit every 12” by double cable ties attached at 45° angles. The conduit is bolted at the base through the mast track.
Any recommendations must necessarily take into account the details of your mast extrusion.

Here is how I replace my conduit. Needed larger one. Masts | Sailing Vessel Vigah

I just fiished this project last summer, worked well.
See post #16 on the link below, I used exaclty what was suggested, and I spaced the rivets 2 feet apart along the 40' mast.
