Help Needed: Replacing O'day 30 Centerboard Wire

Ok I did a google search and got nothing, so I am hoping the experts here in our group can help me.

I need to replace the wire that pull my centreboard up on an Oday 30. What is the easiest way to do this. She is on Jack Stands right now with the Centreboard up, I have never owned a centreboard boat before other then a 18' dingy.

Is there a manual or a site that give directions to do this? Any help you great folks can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Hi, I just bought an O'Day 30 and am figuring out the rigging. There's a thin metal pole just aft of the mast inside the cabin and a line that runs from it up deck and is cleated near the cockpit. Is this the centerboard wire? If so, I'm also having trouble figure out 1) if mine works 2) how it works.

If it's not a centerboard, what is this mystery line?

Talk to these guys DR Marine Category List they are the people who took over all of the O'day parts when O'day closed. They were extremely helpful with all of my needs.

Greetings - I second unbusted67, as little beats a human to communicate with when you are trying to figure out what should be "simple." However, I also think you might both benefit from this link on O'day centerboard replacement. How do I remove the centerboard on my OD25 - SailboatOwners.com

Perhaps the O’Day 30 Owner’s Manual will help:
