Heater Eberspacher D3LC: Erasing fault memory?

Diesel heater Eberspacher D3LCC, 12 volt: Erasing fault memory?

Hi,
Our diesel heater from Eberspacher - D3LCC, 12 volt - suddenly stopped after regular and intensive usage. My first best guess is that there is a need to replace the glow plug. After all, the Eberspacher is 20 years old (from 2000) and have worked just fine until now. Our batteries are just fine and delivers all amperes needed for starting up the diesel heater.
After testing and restart heater, the "fault memory" have triggered after some 5 attempts and stopped further re-starts of the heater.
The control unit for the heater is kind of primitive, analogue unit with a wheel that controls amount of heat and a button that you can toggle ON/OFF.
I can't find any kind of Reset button within the control unit that can Erase this Fault memory.

Solutions:
  • Replace the heater with cheap one from China
  • Buy a new glow plug and find someone who can reset the heater
  • Maybe the error is something else other than old glow plug

How can I reset the fault memory in the control unit?

Re: Heater Eberspacher D3LC: Erasing fault memory?

Sometimes the only thing needed to clear things like this fault memory is to disconnect from the power supply and give enough time for internal capacitors etc to drain down, and then re-connect the power ? Maybe disconnected for 10-15 minutes ?

This was what I had to do to get my Ford truck to re-start after one of the DPF temp sensors went open circuit and reported to the ECU that the truck was on fire. It shut the engine off and refused to even allow the engine to be cranked. I disconnected all the temp sensor plugs underneath, then reset the ECU and was then able to drive in "limp mode" but better than being stranded...
