Freedom 1800 watt inverter charger

Recently purchased Freedom 1800 watt inverter charger. Called Xantrex and was told to use Class T 250 amp fuse (inverter to batteries) but did not mention DC disconnect. Installation states that a DC disconnect is needed when using a fuse. Of course tried to call back and after 30 minutes on hold gave up. Called dealer I purchased from and was told I did not need DC disconnect. So.. Please let me know anyone that has this unit and what you did to hook up. Using 1/0 wire.
