Can't see the main

Being in the sub-tropics, we, and most other boats here, have both a dodger and a full Bimini covering the entire cockpit all the way back to the stern rail. Within the center of the Bimini is a 30" x 15" isinglass window for viewing the main, checking hoist, trim etc. The problem is that the window has powerful Velcro around the periphery and is very difficult (like impossible) to reach. Even unzipping a section of the Bimini and standing on the cockpit benches or the coaming I can't fully remove the cover. Since the window has to be watertight I think it has to be permanently stitched in and not, for instance, removable from the inside. Likewise, having a cover on the inside of the Bimini to block the sun when the window is not needed is not ideal because the isinglass will soon discolor in the tropical sun. Any suggestions?
