Best engine oil extractor?

My Perkins engine has a built in pump for changing the oil, but my generator is not located where this would work, so I need a pump to extract its oil. West Marine and Defender feature about a dozen different pumps. I want the smallest simplest one that will work without making a mess. Which ones have you used and like best? And when you have pumped the old oil out, how do you dispose of it?

Re: Best engine oil extractor?

Go to an auto parts store and buy the pump with the thinnest longest tube to insert into the oil level dipstick tube. Cheaper than "marine" pumps and aren't any different.

Store the oil in the empty bottle you replaced the oil with until you can dump it at a proper container disposal thing.
