AVON Dinghy Repair

I have a 2003 West Marine AVON Dinghy with the hard bottom. The gray bumpguard around the exterior is becoming loose all around the dinghy. How can I repair it?

SC 2000 conveyer belt glue is the best stuff I've ever used.
It's a 2 part glue which is vastly superior to the West Marine stuff.

The label says basically "rough up the surfaces, apply mixed glue to conveyor belt mating surfaces, clamp, then wait (I forget how long, but not very long) return conveyer belt to service."

We repaired our Avon 3.10 a couple of times while in the tropics.
That was more than ten years ago and it's still working just fine.

As Steve says. Just make sure of what material your dink is made of, and that the glue is specificly sold for that material. Use the wrong glue--and you get to do the job all over again. The sanding and cleaning is also critical. Done carefully and with the right glue, the job will last forever. The glues are not cheap, and they have a limited shelf life.

Grainger and McMaster (both online if not local) usually have these type of products.

Avon has not made (to my knowledge) any lesser quality then halypon / rubber dingies.

Anyone know any different?
