Applying non skid paint over weathered factory non skid

Any need to apply epoxy primer over whats left of the 47 year old factory no skid paint before applying Interlux InterDeck premixed no skid paint?
I'm thinking just clean it up real good, scratch it up a bit with 220 grit, clean it again, then apply right over the original...
your expert advise is kindly appreciated.

Strictly adhere to the manufacturers application instructions and you normally obtain the best results.

Do you know what paint was used for the original? If compatible with your choice of paint, you can just clean and paint. The cleaning must be done with a Scotchbrite and TSP. Keep an eye on where it goes and hose down when it runs on something you don’t want etched.

I have no experience with InterDeck, but when you’re rolling it, an even distribution/appearance will be the difficulty. Stir long and often. I prefer sprinkling anti skid medium over wet paint to make even distribution easy.

Edit: I think for your case it works best if you use a big brush and tamp the paint over the area. I heard pro’s recommended that for pre-mixed paints.
