antifouling and centerboard

Hi,

I am looking for feedback on how to deal with painting a centerboard trunk with antifouling. This is a new boat to me and I have never had a centerboard boat before (this is not a swing keel boat).

I am looking for advise on how to deal with lifting the boat out of the water (best way to block it on the hard) and painting the trunk, or not (I don't think you can get in there even with the board fully down)

Do you pull the boat with the board fully in, paint the rest of the boat and than raise the boat, lower the board, paint it and drop it in the water?

Re: antifouling and centerboard

Hoi,
On my boat I don use any at all. Do have the centerboard raised in port and it will be nice dark inside the box, allowing harly anythng to grow. At least in the medium water-temperatures in Holland

Re: antifouling and centerboard

I also have no need to antifoul the inside of the trunk, impossible to do appart from the first few inches, The slot is dark and in the last 6 + years ive never had cause for concern. The antifoul on the board will stop most critters from entering anyway.
Board is always up in port, only drop it for tight manouvering or when sailing.
