Yanmar 3YM30 Anodes

Does the 3YM30 have internal anode(s) that require attention please? I cannot find any.

Re: Yanmar 3YM30 Anodes

According to the 3YM30 service manual, there are no anodes in the cooling system.

Re: Yanmar 3YM30 Anodes

Hi guys, this question had me going for while. I have two 3YM30 connected to SD20 sail drives. It is the sail drive that has two zincs, one on the shaft next to the propeller as normal and one inside the engine compartment at the rear of the engine and the top of the saildrive. Just below the oil fill on the port side of the saildrive is a large nut that holds a pencil zinc that can be replaced by separating it from the large nut. Original part number is 196420-02441, this has been replaced by a newer number.

Oh and a small note on the nut states “Don’t remove while the boat in the water”.

Hope this stops someone from hours or research looking for the lost engine anode!!
