Volvo Penta 2003 starter blow up

the starter blows up .. sure old etc. So I replace it and after 2 or 3 starts up, it smokes again...
I buy a new one but, I am worried to install it.
Any suggestions ?
wonder if it was a bad replacement !!!
If not .. NOW WHAT?
I appreciate some information, I am lost on this one.
check everything for ground. nothing.
last try, all disconnected I jumped the starter solenoid and it run slow for a few seconds.
Try again and I can hear the solenoid click but, nothing running.
Blow a 200 Amp fuse which I bypass for this test.
I hope it is just a bad starter....

Ok Gianfranco , try rotating the engine manually by using the front pulley bolt and a socket wrench. The series of new starter motors could be just a symptom of a deeper problem. Also, whenever a starter motor is replaced it needs to be closely examined and compared to the original... especially the pinion gear and depth of entry. And while it’s out, also inspect the ring gear. I’m assuming that the DC power supply and cabling is all in normal working order, if not, fix that as a priority.

the engine turns easily... may have been low voltage since the battery was new and I assumed was charged.... low voltage high current.
I check the voltage and appeared Ok with no load.
Just a good guess.
