Volvo 2002 vs Yanmar 2GM

Am considering buying a used 80's vintage 30'-32' racer cruiser. Some have Volvo 2002 diesels and others have Yanmar 2GMs. What are the pros and cons of these choices?

And the Yanmar is a clonker. Funniest sounding engine ever built. Does not make it a bad one though.
