Universal M3-20, Kabota equivalent?

Hello to all,

I am new to the site so best regards to everyone.

I am looking for cross over info on the engine in my recently acquired 1990 Ericson 28. She is powered by a Universal M3-20 with the serial #200204. Her date of birth is either 1989 or 1990.

Can anyone provide me with info that will enable me to cross reference this little diesel over to her Kabota tractor engine block equivalent? It would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sam, welcome to the forum. I have a Kabota (Universal) in my Newport. Try this site: htpp://capitalyachts.info/ and go to "Misc Info" at the top and then open "Universal Deisel Info" I think it is. This should open up a PDF file which I think has cross referenced model numbers. Hope this helps. Again, welcome

Hey Sam, If it is an eighteen horsepower three cylinder it looks like the Kabota number is Z640.

A lot of the Kubota conversions are / were based on the D905 through D1105 series industrial motors.
