Re: Help needed with alternator replacement on a Yanmar 2gm

Answering my own question in case someone else stumbles across this.

B to B is positive
E to E is negative/ground
L to the lower portion of the T slit is for the Exciter
P is for the tach

I was told by the guys at the alternator shop I need not worry about the upper portion of the T plug, so I did not.

Be safe!

Re: Help needed with alternator replacement on a Yanmar 2gm

I acquired a 1977 Hunter 27 and just purchased a new alternator from API marine model 20106. It has the Battery terminal, Tach Lead, and the T Connector. It does show the "L" on the vertical tab. On another forum I read that the horizontal one is the voltage sense. I also read that the Lamp is connected to the negative side of the lamp indicator.

The engine was upgraded by one of the previous owners to a 2QM15 and the alternator I took out was the LR135-31 that looked like yours.

Two questions:
1. Is the negative lead going to the lamp indicator
2. Where did you find the T Connector Harness? The one on this alternator from API Marine the vertical tab on the T Connector is slightly offset from center.

Thanks

Mike
