Feathering Prop vs Folding Prop

Hello all.
I have an Autostream Feathering Prop on a racing yacht. I don't like the factory technique for ensuring it has feathered. "Drive the boat forward with engine power (faster than current sailing speed) Shut the engine down while going forward" The forward motion causes the prop to feather.
I am looking to replace the fixed pitch prop on my cruising yacht (Oceanic 46 Yanmar 75Hp Saildrive) with a more "sailing sympathetic" prop.
I presume the folding props do fold without the need for the excess forward speed and sudden engine stop technique. The contra seems to be poorer performance astern.
Does anybody care to offer their experience?
Thanks in anticipation.

Re: Feathering Prop vs Folding Prop

If you replace it with a Flex-O-Fold three bladed folder, you will be rewarded with better motoring performance going forward, adequate in reverse, better fuel economy, less drag sailing and no worries about folding.

We're pretty happy with our F-O-F, and were only marginally happy with our Auto Stream.
