Audible Overheat Alarm For Engine

Can anyone advise on how to set up a very loud overheat alarm for our main engine - a Ford FSD 425. We have an overheat on the exhaust hose but this only shows a visual light and can be easily overlooked. Maybe something wired into the engine block? We recently had an overheat situation when a hose came off and no cooling water was getting to the engine and just by luck we noticed it before it did harm

Re: audible overheat alarm for engine

Not sure how much current your engine overheat switch can handle? let assume it can handle 15ma to run this piezo. $4 and half an hour labour
Mini Piezo Buzzer 3-16V - Jaycar Electronics
just wire it in parallel to your indicator light.
indicator light powers up, piezo also powers up.

Im going to do this same installation to a yacht tomorrow, i will let you know how it goes.

If anyone has better ideas let them fly!

Many thanks for the info - I will wait for your advice on wiring. Very reasonable price too.
