The organisers of the StH have stated they will run a multihull division if they can get five boats that meet the required standards to start.

Any links to where this has been stated? I've never heard this. I'm sure several of the boats which run in the Brisbane to Gladstone race would meet the requirements, as long as they are sensible.

I will call you on that. I personally have contacted CYCA on a number of occasions for stories I have written, there is I am regularly advised no intent or desire to run a race for Multihulls. So you need a reference or a contact that I can verify that with, Or, its down as "Not Reliable".

It was mentioned in a thread over on BD. It must have been off topic because it is not in the S2H thread.
Something about Langman talking to CYCA and them saying they would as above, there was then a discussion among posters who couldn't put together 5 Australian boats from those now racing. Including Gladstone boats.
I live in the West so not that familiar with how many are racing in the east.
I would have thought between the Gladstone and the 3 peaks race you could get 5 ?

So the CYCA "would consider it". That's a little different from them saying "They will run a multihull division if there are 5 entries"

I think most boat owners would want something a bit more definite than "We'll consider it" before shelling out too much money meeting whatever requirements the CYCA might have.

But I think if it were really on the table, there would be no difficulty in finding 5 boats who'd race.

Fair enough, but "consider" is a lot more positive than No !
