NW Multihull Assn. Seattle, In Person & Zoom Meeting Tue Feb 6, Heavy Weather Sailing

Greetings Multihullers!

Our second meeting of 2024 will be held on Tuesday Feb 6th, back to our usual first Tuesday of the month.

The doors open at 6:30 PM at our usual meeting place: Puget Sound Yacht Club, 2321 North Northlake Way, in Seattle. We'll have a pot luck dinner first then around 7 the presentation begins. All are welcome. Or tune in on Zoom, (links below).

We are going to have a roundtable style discussion about heavy weather sailing. While avoidance may be the preferred solution for some conditions, regardless of the reason you are in heavy weather, you are there. What do you do on your boat that keeps things manageable as conditions build? What doesn’t work, what does?

We will discuss topics like preparations, reefing both main and head sails, sail plan balance, steering through/over waves, ways to depower the sail plan prior to and after reefing, basic sail shape for high winds vs. large sea states, and other related topics that may come up.

This style of meeting will best be attended in person, though we will still have Zoom running for those who are not able to attend in person available at the link below.

We hope to see you there!
