Hawaiian Cats

I happened across this old card that I picked up in Hilo back in the 70's. It was buried amongst my old Navy papers. It seems the dream is still alive but with a different boat. But still like cats though. Just can't afford the one I like.
Thought I'd share this old relic and some history (for those interested).

King Kamehameha’s war canoe of Peleleu were a special class of large war canoes. 800+ were built on the Big Island. The hulls were carved out koa trees, in the lengths from 60’ to 108’. The sails were made of Pandanus leaf sail matting. Some were decked over at the stern for cargo.
An avergae length was around 70’, and some had swiveling small cannons, which he obtained in payment for supplies to European and USA ships.

It's ironic too, that they celebrate King Kamehameha Day on my BD.
