Check out getting a
mooring off of Standish Boatyard in Tiverton, RI. They usually seem to have room, even for multihulls. Some friends of ours used to keep their
Manta cat there. It is in RI, but about as close as you can get to the border with Mass., so the drive is a little bit shorter (take Rt. 24 down to Fall River and then on to Tiverton), and takes a lot less time than getting to other
parts of RI from NH. Also, you are right at the
head of the Sakonnet River and can sail out into the ocean within a few hours and be at Cuttyhunk Island in about five hours, or continue up Buzzards Bay to someplace else. Tons of
current in there, but not too bad in terms of shelter. We've spent a
hurricane on a
mooring there and had no major issues. Cheers!
