This is the GT26

Its not a nonsuch. I'm docked right beside a 30 and its is remarkably different. They are beautiful boats. Not that mine isn't.. but they really are gorgeous.

I'm pretty green also to the cruising scene, but there are folks on here that have been doing it for years.

You might post a question on the construction/refit forum on this site concerning building that anchor storage area.

Btw, my anchor rode feeds down below decks and the anchor is secured on a roller on the bow. Actually the roller is now gone (slight docking accident) but it's on the repaired bow sprit secured.

If it has a large hatch on deck, then it would be a sail loft. otherwise it's just forward storage.

Congratulations!

She is a beauty if it's like the photos of the other boats. Anchor lockers are easy but you are better off hanging a small anchor on your bow pulpit and feeding the chain or rode below into a chain locker through a vent. You'll appreciate any interior space you can keep and an anchor takes up lots of room because of their design. Keeping the anchor on deck prevents you from stepping where you need to to handle foresails.

Ultimately... it really doesnt matter. I love the boat and it's in good shape. It would be interesting however, to speak to other owners and see their setups.

Hinterhoeller was located in Niagara-on-the-Lake (yes, that's the name of the town. It's a beautiful, historic place) in Ontario Canada. NOTL is on the corner of the Niagara River and Lake Erie, just north of Niagara Falls. Hinterhoeller went belly up a few years ago.

They built many boats. Their boats have a reputation of being of good quality.

I don't know what else to tell you, except Niagara-on-the-Lake's website is Niagara on the Lake Dig in there and maybe you can find a lead to someone who can tell you about your boat.
