Re: Ventilation in Aft Cabins/Center Cockpit

Most centre cockpit's will have some ventilation to let air in. Mine has these two opening windows above the bed in the transom (pictured) to let the hot air out and its been fine without air conditioning in this current Aussie summer. Also, hull slapping is a hull design issue. We ordered ours without it. Many centre cockpit's will be older designs (like mine) and not slap as much as a newer designed flatter hull shapes.

Anyone tried Insulating the outside of the aft cabin with a fitted vinyl cushion. Amazing difference in temp between the surface of the vinyl to the aft cabin surface. I don't see it on many boats, but it helps to keep the heat down. Joe
