To the Caribbean in a Morg Herit W Indies 36

Looking at a 1976 Morgan Heritage West Indies 36, boat is currently in NY, if purchased we would learn the ropes by day sailing down to FL then would like to cruise to the Caribbean.

All that to this point, as it has a center board would this be a good boat for Caribbean sailing?

Good boat for the Keys and Bahamas with the board up and good for the Caribbean with the board down as depth is not a problem in the Caribbean until you get to the Western Caribbean...Belize etc.

From a seaworthiness point of view it is also an good boat for the journey. In hurricane season you would need to be south of 12N or whatever line your insurer prefers. ABC's, Grenada or Trinidad

friend of mine had one for many years. he did florida to bahamas a couple of times. i thought it was a pretty good boat and it was definitely a good sailor.
