Re: The cost of moorings

If the bulk of the cost is getting the contractors and rig up there, then the second one would be much less than AUD$20K. Could you install two for maybe $22K and rent one out to make it a business that would subsidize the mooring on which your own boat resides?

Re: The cost of moorings

Harro,

Seems that the marine you hv chosen is one that could not care about yr length but only for the potentially largest stinkpot that would fit. You do not give the LOA of yr boat so hard to make more comment
My boat (sailing boat, 13m/43ft) in the Med and I would expect an annual contract , 12 mths, to be about @€4,000. Or high season as a visitor €60-70/ night. At one point in my travels I was asked for €430/night in Ibiza/Balearics which was the same ridiculous basis on which you might be charged
Maybe you shd try a different marina which talks sense.

Re: The cost of moorings

How about this advice, if you think it's outrageous, then don't pay it and move along to some place that isn't

Re: The cost of moorings

25k sounds rediculously expensive...
Did you get a cost brake down?
In Brisbane you get a new mooring for about 3000

If people think that is expensive. In False Creek Vancouver Canada. there is a place that when a slip goes on the market it goes for about $275.000.00 plus monthly fee for electricity, water, garbage etc....
