Thanks Oysterbob...I did ask for it. Hope you finally did get it all sorted and working well. And I agree, the online instructions for all the plug and play connections is quite confusing. Probably simple with experience but hopeless for the newcomer (me). Trying to arrange a pilot for the Bavaria. The old rubber band job has died.

I have to say a good vane and an a good pilot are quite different beasts.

Finally, I've get an windpilot Pacific. I'll keep my st2000 motoring and light winds, and hope that windvane could suit my sailing agenda.

Thanks to everybody for your help.

I'll keep posted about how I get used to the windvane.
